Challenge

We started the design trying to answer the question "How can we make the learning process more fun?"

User Journey Map

We used post-its to create a holistic user journey map. We realized that we wanted to help new cooks cook with the ingredients and equipment they already had to make it easier for them to start at any time.

Persona

We discovered that our persona wanted to cook but didn't always have the correct equipment or ingredients at hand. She also needed clear instructions and lacked a grasp on some of the basic cooking terminology.

Structure

I compiled a list of all the features we were thinking of offering. Then, I ranked them in order of importance and arranged them into app pages.

Paper Prototyping

Using my structure as a reference, all the members of my team created paper prototypes. I proposed the inclusion of the onboarding screens. I also explored what the app may look like in a horizontal layout.

Wireframes

After some user testing and feedback, we started creating digital wireframes using Figma. I primarily worked on the home screen and added in the feature to give players discounts for the equipment they need as they level up.

Surface design

Commís, meaning a junior chef, was the perfect name for our app. We chose standardized colors and fonts to do the surface design
